On Friday, August 28, Nolan’s Point was the first leg of a three-week adventure for 16 teenagers from Japan, all participating in the annual Rotary District 7475 Japan Short Term Youth Exchange. Members of the Lake Hopatcong Rotary Club hosted the teenagers who were treated to a round of golf at the Lake Hopatcong Golf Club, boat rides courtesy of local Rotarian members and dinner at Alice’s restaurant before meeting and departing with their host families.

All of the participating teenagers are children of Rotary club members from District 2670 in Shikoku, Japan. Earlier this summer, families in Shikoku hosted children from District 7475, which has 79 clubs from north and central New Jersey under its jurisdiction. The exchange program between districts has been going on since 1978, said Jim Allison, chair of the youth exchange program.
