Route 94 southbound to be closed and detoured Friday, 2/28 through Sunday, 3/2 in Newton, Sussex County

Closure necessary to replace critical utility pole


(Trenton) – Route 94 southbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured beginning tomorrow, February 28 and continuing to Sunday, March 2 for emergency utility pole replacement in Newton, Sussex County. This closure will affect traffic going to and from Newton Medical Center.

 

Beginning at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, February 28, until 12 noon Sunday, March 2, Route 94 southbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured at the Route 206/High Street/Main Street interchange. The closure is necessary to replace a critical utility pole. The following detours will be in place:

 

Route 94 southbound Detour:

  • Motorists on Route 206 southbound/High Street wishing to continue onto Route 94 southbound/High Street will be directed to stay left for Route 206 southbound/Netcong/Sparta

  • Turn right onto Main Street/Route 206 southbound

  • Turn right onto Liberty Street, back to Route 94

 

Route 94 southbound TRUCK Detour: 

  • Trucks on Route 206 southbound/High Street wishing to continue onto Route 94 southbound/High Street will be directed to stay left for Route 206 southbound/Netcong/Sparta

  • Turn right onto Main Street/Route 206 southbound

  • Turn right onto Woodside Avenue/CR 621 to continue on Route 206 southbound

  • Turn right onto Fredon Springdale Road/CR 618, which becomes Willows Road, back to Route 94
