Route 15 Overnight Lane Closures Next Week
Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, June 3 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, and continuing nightly through Friday, June 7 at the same time, Route 15 is scheduled to have a single lane closed between Phipps Road and the Bridge over the Rockaway River for final paving. At 10 p.m. a second lane will be closed. At least one lane will be maintained overnight. Work is expected to begin on Route 15 northbound for the first few nights and then move to Route 15 southbound.
The work is part of an $8 million federally funded project to enhance safety and improve the operation of the signalized intersection of Route 15 and Berkshire Valley Road in Jefferson Township. Improvements included adding a second left turn lane from Berkshire Valley Road southbound to Route 15 southbound, as well as widening and extending the Route 15 northbound through lane. The traffic signals were replaced, ADA-compliant sidewalks were constructed, and upgrades were made to drainage and guiderail.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
