Freshwater Faces: Scott Wood

Scott Wood spent summers on Lake Hopatcong throughout his childhood. His family lake house was built in 1910 and was owned by his great grandfather who purchased the house in the late 1920’s. His grandparents, Elma and Stew Lant, then owned the house.

Wood’s love for the lake is what made him expand his business to include the needs of lake residents.
His family has been involved with the lake for a few generations as members of the Knee Deep (fishing) Club and the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club.
"I started my business, Scott R. Wood, LLC 10 years ago and for the past several years I have been branching out to do more dock and residential construction around the lake,"
said Wood.
He plans to keep his family’s involvement with the lake strong by starting a new chapter in marine construction on Lake Hopatcong as well as other area lakes. His business is devloping into a full line of services on docks and homes. With a recent addition of a barge to his business, Wood will often be seen making house calls around the lake.
Another addition to Woods life is his wife, Sandra. The two were married last September and the reception was held at the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club in Mt. Arlington.
Sandra also has a history on the lake as she too spent her summers at her family’s lake house. Together the couple own and operate their business. Wood refers to it as a family business, where a customers needs are just a phone call away. His newly acquired barge will allow him to deliver his customer’s dock and dock accessory needs with old fashioned customer service.
