Fishing Report 9/22/2014

The Knee Deep Club held their walleye contest this past weekend with a turnout of 51 entrants. Fishing was somewhat on the slower side for walleye, but better for some other species.

Tom Sarnacki placed first, winning $ $407 with a 4 lb 3 oz fish, Bob Smith won $ 306 for second place with a 3 lb 9 oz, and Edward Hujsa came in third, winning $164 with his 3 lb 9 oz walleye. Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth place winners each got a $20 gift certificate to Dow’s Boat Rental. Those fish ranged in size from 3 lb 6 oz down to 2 lb 12 oz.

The next Knee Deep Club contest is for The King of the Lake, being held on Oct 11th and 12th.

In other fishing news, Dan Mazza, fishing with his friend Brian Zavistoski had walleye weighing 7 lb 3 oz and another weighing 5 lb along with several smaller ones and hybrids up to 6 lb 15 oz. Ronald Rosa of Newton, fishing with his son Zachary, had a walleye on herring weighing 5 lb 7 oz, and Anthony D’ Acosta fished with his daughter, also catching a 5 lb 7 oz walleye. Seeing lots of white perch on chicken livers and pickerel hitting Mepps spinners along the weedlines.

Have a great week…
