JEFFERSON – Dozens of parishioners from area churches braved the chilly temperatures to attend the annual Easter Sunrise Service on the patio of the Lake Shawnee clubhouse Sunday. Most were bundled in winter clothing, wearing hats, scarfs and gloves, and some wrapped themselves in blankets.
Pastor Paul Zorn from Hurdtown Methodist Church played host to the 45-minute service. Celebrating the service with Pastor Zorn were Pastors Ken Adams from Byram Bay Christian Church, Karen Bostrom from the First Presbyterian Church of Berkshire Valley and JinWook Jeong from West Side Methodist Church. Deacon Tom Friel from St. Jude Roman Catholic Church delivered the sermon.
“This is a great way to begin the day,” said Zorn.
