Perona Farms was the setting for our 9th Annual Fashion Show Fundraiser. This year fashions were presented by Melania’s Fashions of Randolph. Many thanks to Melania and her staff, the fashions were extraordinary! We held a silent auction, gave out numerous door prizes, and everyone had lots of fun and good food.
A special thank you goes out to our Fashion Show committee, headed by past president Ellen Buongiorno, and including: Pat Beach, Marlene Colabella, Karen Giordano, Cyndi Marinese, Sylvia Pelham and Selma Reichert.
We would also like to thank the following local businesses for their generous donations: Arrangement Day Spa, Bagels on the Hill, Buddy’s Small Lots, Cinders Woodfire Grill, Crunch Gym, Cuisine Inspirations, LLC, Dominick’s Hair Salon, Fanucci’s, Frogmore, Get Potted, The Grotto, Gruber, Colabella & Liuzza, J. Town Tavern/Jefferson Diner, Lighten Up Salon, Mary Kay, Nail Plus, Paradise Nails & Spa, Perona Farms, Presto Flowers, Rainbow Cleaners, Twist on Thai, and Weezer Gifts.
And lastly, a thank you to our models, who made all the fashions look terrific: Michelle Bielawski, Gina Buongiorno, Erica Golterman, Barbara McCurdy, Amy McMeth, Kris Peterson, and Rachel Savokinas!
We at the Hopatcong Woman’s Club are very active in our community, our Highlands District, and the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs. Some of our current interests that we support through time, items needed, or financially assist with include: NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), Douglass College, Scholarships for two high school seniors and one adult woman returning for further education, the Interfaith Food Bank, Head Start, IS Sevicemen and women serving in Afghanistan, US Veterans, DASI (Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Intervention) and many community groups and activities. As new members join us and bring new ideas to the table, we expand our interests. Join us on the third Wednesday of each month from September through May, typically at the Hopatcong Senior Center on Lakeside Blvd at 10:30am. September and May events may be held at local restaurants where we have guest speakers, so check ahead by calling Member Chairperson Selma Reichert at 973-770-4989.
